There are several ways to reload your Smart Money MasterCard. You can go to the nearest Smart wireless centers, loading partner centers and Banco De Oro branches or transfer funds from your Unionbank EON account by using the Mobile Banking Service.

For me, using the Mobile Banking Service is the fastest and easiest way to reload my Smart Money MasterCard. I don’t have to go to reloading centers and wait in line just to have my Smart Money MasterCard reloaded. I can do it anytime, anywhere by just using my Smart cellular phone.

I have been using this method most of the time and now I decided to make this simple guide on how to transfer funds from your Unionbank EON account to your Smart Money MasterCard using Mobile Banking Service by following these simple steps;

Step I: Apply for Mobile Banking Service

To apply, go to any Unionbank branch near you and fill out an application form for Mobile Banking Service. I actually applied at a mall branch near our place.

You will receive an M-PIN via SMS (Short Message Service) from Unionbank. This M-PIN is required for every transaction you make using Mobile Banking Service. Upon receipt of your M-PIN, memorize and keep this number privately. Now you’re ready to activate your Mobile Banking menu.

Step II: Activate your Smart cellular phone’s Mobile Banking menu

  1. Go to Smart Menu and select “Mobile Banking”.
  2. Select “Activate Bank”, press OK.
  3. Select “M-PIN”, press OK.
  4. Enter bank code (Unionbank’s bank code is UBP).
  5. You will receive a confirmation message, press OK.
  6. Enter your M-PIN, press OK.
  7. You will receive an SMS confirming your activation.

Step III: Reload your Smart Money using Mobile Banking Service

  1. Go to Smart Menu and select “Smart Money”.
  2. Select “Reload Money”, press OK.
  3. Once “Reload To” is shown on screen, press OK.
  4. Select from your list of Smart Money card names to reload (recipient), then press OK.
  5. Once “From bank” is shown on screen, press OK.
  6. Select from the list of banks to reload from (select Unionbank), then press OK.
  7. From a list of account entries, select the account number that will be the source of funds to be loaded to your card, then press OK.
  8. Key in amount (minimum 100 Php) to be reloaded, press OK.
  9. You will receive a confirmation request of your transaction, press OK.
  10. Enter your M-PIN, press OK.
  11. You will receive an SMS confirmation for every successful transaction.

Congratulations! You successfully transferred funds from your Unionbank EON account to your Smart Money MasterCard. By the way, this service costs only 2.50 Php per successful transaction deducted from your Smart cellular phone’s airtime load. This method works for me well and hope it can help you too.

Hello! I learned a lot from your posts. May question lang ako, kapag nasa SMART Money Card mo na yung winithdraw mo from Unionbank EON account, paano mo sya makukuha? I mean, paano convert into cash? Pupuntahan mo ba any SMART Center and doon mo iclaclaim yung mismong money? What is the maximum amount that can be transfer from EON to SMART Money? Thanks!

    Hi snoogle!

After a successful transfer from Unionbank to Smart Money Card, you can withdraw it at any ATMs nationwide.

I advice you to withdraw at BDO (Banco De Oro) ATMs because there is NO withdrawal fee. You will be charged Php11.00 if you withdraw using other banks’ ATMs.

The maximum amount you can transfer from EON to Smart Money Card per day is Php10,000 and the maximum amount you can withdraw from Smart Money is Php20,000 per day.

Hope this answers your questions. Thank you for visiting :D

hi, i just want to ask, how much is the credit limit of the eon card? because i deposited 40k on my eon account than nagbayad ako ng 60 plus dollars on my supplier in china then nung next transaction i will pay him $40 plus biglang error nagexceed daw ng credit limit same day lang yun.. i’m afraid baka nawala na yung money ko.. and by the way pano mag check ng balance online? thank you!

EON card doesn’t have a credit limit because it’s not a credit card, it’s a debit card. It means that in order for you to use your EON card, it must have funds in it.

About the “biglang error nagexceed daw ng credit limit same day lang yun”, I’m not sure about that because I haven’t used my EON for direct online transactions internationally. You may ask that question directly to a Unionbank representative on their hotline.

For the question on how to check your EON’s balance online, you can apply for an EON Cyber Account for your EON card. The steps are detailed on my post here.
