Mark these days, folks – November 7 and 8, 2009!

Be at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone on those days and witness the Windows 7 big launch! We’ll have games and prizes, celebrities, demos and freebies! We’re giving away lots of goodies. Everyone gets a chance to bring home gadgets, goodies, maybe even laptops!

Don’t think about it, just be there!

Calling people from Cebu! You’ll have your own Windows 7 launch soon! Check this page often for updates and details.

I actually tried using Windows 7 RC1 (Release Candidate 1) a few weeks ago but I can’t give a full review about it because I only used it for a limited time at an iCafe. Not just an ordinary internet cafe but a powerful one.

A few months ago, the country’s leading computer providers Acer, Microsoft, Intel and Villman teamed up and opened the Philippines’ first high-end Gaming Lounge at the 4th floor of the Cyberzone Annex Building at SM North EDSA.

There are around 40 Acer computers all powered by Intel Core i7 and running on Windows 7 RC1. Most probably that on the November 7 Philippine launch of this OS, all of the PC units will be on the full version of Windows 7.

For a brief explanation of what to expect on Microsoft’s latest OS, Windows 7, you can watch this video clip with Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer when he announced the worldwide availability of Windows 7 at its launch party on New York City last October, in courtesy of The Wall Street Journal‘s liveblog.

By the way, the minimum system requirements for Windows 7 are;

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
