Although this fight is closed, it opens a potential fight that a lot of boxing fans wanted to see, a boxing match between “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs “Sugar” Shane Mosley.
After the negotiations for a Pacquiao vs Mayweather mega fight went off a few weeks ago due to issues that both camps have not agreed on, Pacquiao’s camp moved on and chose the Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey for his next fight, a former IBF (International Boxing Federation) welterweight champion.
As for the Mayweather camp, they haven’t named an official opponent yet. Mosley’s previous fight was almost a year ago when he defeated Antonio Margarito for the WBA welterweight belt. Now that Mosley’s available, he could potentially be Mayweather, Jr.’s next opponent.
The potential Mayweather vs Mosley bout initially heated up on the post-fight interview by Max Kellerman after Mayweather Jr. beat Juan Manuel Marquez last September 2009 when Mosley together with Bernard Hopkins taunted Mayweather Jr. for a bout.
Mosley said that, “The fans want to see a great fight, me and “Money” Mayweather. Let’s get this on! Let’s do it!”

No one knows if the Mayweather-Mosley bout will happen until the official announcement. I hope that this fight happens and a lot of boxing fans wanted to see this fight. Both boxers are connected with Golden Boy Promotions.
