2010 NBA Rookie Challenge and Dunk-In Highlights


The NBA Celebrity Game, Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam including the halftime Dunk-In are part of the NBA’s 2010 All Star Weekend event happening on February 12, Friday ET.

The Celebrity Game will be highlighted by icons from movies, television and sports teaming up with some NBA Legends, and the Harlem Globetrotters that will be aired live on February 12, 7pm ET. It will be followed by the NBA Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam live stream.

The NBA Rookie Challenge game includes selected NBA rookies and sophomores as they battle out who reigns supreme. So far, the Sophomores are on a seven game win streak over the Rookies.

Bucks’ Brandon Jennings and Kings’ Tyreke Evans will lead the way for the first years while Heat’s Michael Beasley and Grizzlies’ O.J. Mayo for the second years. Bulls’ Derrick Rose will not play on this game being named as part of the Eastern Conference roster for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game as well as his participation in the 2010 Skills Challenge to defend his crown.

At the halftime of the NBA Rookie Challenge game live stream, two (2) high-flying young players, Eric Gordon of the Clippers and DeMar DeRozan of the Raptors, will compete in the 2010 Dunk-In showdown to determine who’s going to participate in the 2010 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk competition.

The 2010 NBA Rookie Challenge and halftime Dunk-In live stream will be aired on February 12, 9pm ET. In the Philippines, Basketball TV and Solar TV will telecast the NBA Rookie Challenge live stream on the following times; On Basketball TV – February 13, Saturday 10am (Philippine Time) and on Solar TV – February 13, Saturday 1pm (Philippine Time).

2010 Celebrity Game: Terrell Owens (T.O.) of the celebrity East showed off some hops with his dunks and hot shooting on the first half but the celebrity West won the game with the help of some crucial baskets from actor Michael Rapaport late in the game, he also won the Celebrity Game MVP award.

2010 Halftime Dunk-In Showdown: DeMar DeRozan won over Eric Gordon. DeRozan made all his dunks while Gordon struggled a bit. DeRozan moves on to compete in tomorrow’s 2010 Slam Dunk Competition.

2010 NBA Rookie Challenge: The Rookies team finally snapped their seven game losing streak with a 140-128 win over the Sophomores team behind Tyreke Evans’ 26 points and he’s awarded with the 2010 Rookie Challenge MVP award. Russell Westbrook’s 40-point explosion was not enough to bag a win for the second years.
