How to Make Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs

It’s Easter Season once again, let’s celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and for the spring time.

I know that many people are scrambling around their kitchens experimenting and trying to find a way on how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs for the season.

There are lots of methods circulating around where you can find the answer. In a cookbook, from your grandma’s recipe vault, from the internet, from how your mother do it or from me!

I will tell you the perfect way on how to make hard-boiled eggs. It’s very easy to do. You don’t need to be an expert cook like Anthony Bourdain just to make this the right way.

We don’t want overcooked, undercooked or dried hard boil eggs, right?

Here are the steps on how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs.

  1. Take a sauce pan large enough to hold the eggs in a single layer then put the eggs in the pan.
  2. Fill the pan with cold water to cover the eggs by one (1) inch.
  3. Put the pan over high heat and DON’T cover the pan with a lid.
  4. As soon as the water starts to simmer (water starts to bubble but not boiling) and the eggs starts to dance around a little, turn off the heat, then cover the pan quickly with a lid and set your timer for seventeen (17) minutes.
  5. While waiting, don’t peek, don’t open the pan’s cover, in short, don’t do anything to it until the timer expires.
  6. After 17 minutes, bring the hot pan over to the sink and pour off the hot boiling water (be careful not to dump all the eggs into the sink and be careful cause you might get scalded).
  7. Pour over cold running water in the pan with eggs to initially take off most of the heat away from the pan, swirl the pan with eggs a little and pour out the water.
  8. After that initial douse in cold water, fill up the pan all the way with cold water and let it sit around 10 to 15 minutes or until the eggs are cool. You can also pour ice-cold water in it to hasten the cooling process.
  9. The steps on how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs that I just told you works perfectly for me. It’s very simple. Hope it works well for you too.
